History’s historian

Historian Anthony Grafton,  past president of the American Historical Association, will deliver a lecture on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in Devlin Hall, room 101. Grafton specializes in the study of the cultural history, scholarship and education in the West from Antiquity to the 19th century. Among his publications are Defenders of the Text and Bring Out Your Dead. He is the Henry Putnam University Professor of History at Princeton and the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, the Balzan Prize for History of Humanities, and the Mellon Foundation’s Distinguished Achievement Award.
